Magnificent old apron which dates from the beginning of the 19th century. The fabric is a delicate linen thread, woven by hand with an ecru tone. This old textile has an LM monogram in top left of the apron, hand-embroidered in red cross stitch. These textiles were traditionally sewn by nuns handmade and this apron is a great example with gathers and large ties to tie the apron around the waist. It is medium weight with a fluid texture and a nice drape. This model is very long almost like a full petticoat!
The apron is in good condition, with some beautiful handwork and a few small rust spots, good condition nonetheless, rare for its age!
